The Johnstone service supports individuals in general with complex needs.

Staff support people who have challenging behaviours, forensic needs and complex physical needs. We support people from 3 hours per week to 24 hours per day.

Some individuals receive 2:1 support out in the community. This is due to the difficulties individuals face with meeting the expectations of society. The nature of the service is certainly varied and most of the training courses that are offered internally are relevant to us. We support older people, people who are on the autistic spectrum, people with physical difficulties and dual diagnosis to name but some. For this reason staff receive safer handling level 3, autism awareness, choking training, reactive approaches to challenging behaviour as well as all the mandatory and developmental training.

We have had past and present involvement with the Positive Behaviour Team and one of our Senior support workers is in the final stages of her PDA award the management of challenging behaviour. We have our own office in William Street in Johnstone which is in the centre of town. Individuals we support regularly visit the office where they are made to feel welcome and safe.
