Fun Times on Holiday!
At TRFS, we support people to achieve the things that are important to them and have fun! A great example of this is supporting Paul and Margaret's on their amazing holiday.
After searching for their perfect holiday destination for a while, Paul and Margaret, with support from Gillian, set off one fine Monday morning to a log cabin on the shores of Loch Ness for a few days. Paul was excited to see if they would spot Nessie while they were there.
To break up the long journey they made a couple of stops on the way in Pitlochry and Aviemore and enjoyed some well deserved coffee and cake. On arrival at the cabin, they unpacked their bags while Gillian prepared a lovely spaghetti and meatball dinner for them all to enjoy.
The next day Paul and Margaret visited the army barracks at Fort George where everyone enjoyed exploring the fort and the museum. The weather and the scenery were beautiful. After visiting Fort George, Paul and Margaret took a nice peaceful walk along the beach in Nairn before returning to their cabin to relax for the evening.
On Wednesday, Paul and Margaret had a great time on a boat trip of the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. The wind and the rain and the fact they did not spot Nessie didn’t spoil the fun or dampen their spirits.
On their final day they visited Culloden Moor, the site of a famous Scottish Battle, and learned all about its history. They loved looking at the old guns and cannons and really enjoyed walking around the battlefield in the nice weather, looking at the monuments left behind to mark the battle.
It was then time to head home! Everyone had enjoyed their trip and had so much fun that they really wanted to stay. On the way home Paul and Margaret made one last stop in Pitlochry and enjoyed a lovely lunch in an old pub which sat beside a water wheel. To celebrate Paul’s birthday they took a nice walk along to Pitlochry Dam, a place they hadn’t been in a long time.
After a long day of travelling Paul and Margaret were delighted to be back in their own home and able to put their feet up with a nice cup of tea!
Paul and Margaret can’t wait to start planning their next holiday!
