Positivity Shines in Johnstone
Through this very difficult time we have witnessed lots of commitment, kindness and positive approaches shine through our Johnstone services.
Neighbours in John Lang Street sent out a loud and clear message of thanks to staff which gave them a real boost. They are also getting a lot of lovely waves of appreciation when going to and from work.
Abbey View got a nice surprise when a box of fresh fruit, vegetables and eggs was delivered to the service. This was a gift from Courtney's mum, Jackie, who said “this is for all of you to show my appreciation of all your hard work looking after the girls and keeping them safe".
The girls at Abbey View have also painted rainbows and were delighted to see these popping up on the TRFS Facebook page.
Miler Street service has excelled in bringing the outside in. One supported gentleman has struggled to understand why he has to stay at home. Staff got their heads together to create a social story “Why Do I Have to Stay At Home which has helped him and has been shared with others. Staff member, Graham has also created a pop up Café in the garden so the gents can still have their weekly coffee and cake .
A lot of other creative ideas have been introduced to ensure that all the small things carried out weekly are still available for the gentlemen to enjoy including Paul, John and Ricky playing Masterchef and cooking up healthy meals to share.
Our committed Dispersed Team have been the strength behind everyone making sure there is a stock of PPE and other essentials, collecting and distributing all these crucial items to keep the people we support and staff safe and happy.
There have also been lots of nice comments from local Social Work Teams: -
Elina McVicar - "A big thank you to all your teams for their commitment. Take care".
Conor McCann - "Sounds like staff are doing a really good piece of work".
Alasdair Duke - "Thanks to your staff for doing so well in this difficult time – it really is appreciated and humbling".
Team Manager Rona and Senior Support Workers Maria, Lisa and Paul would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff in the Johnstone Services. They stated "you are all an amazing and incredible bunch, your hard work does not go unnoticed. What you are doing is making a huge difference in keeping everyone safe".
