A new space for James!

We believe that everyone has the right to lead a fulfilling life. This means that we focus on helping people achieve the outcomes and things that matter to them. Each person we support has their own specific outcomes and goals. It was identified that a sensory room would be a great addition to James's life and support so with staff working together with James's family, plans were put in place!

A multi-sensory room is the ideal place for people of all ages and abilities to have the stimulation they need to encourage them to interact with their environment and increase or maintain functional skills.

James, supported by staff at our Rowan Wynd service, has changed his spare bedroom into a sensory room. This has been in the making now since the first lockdown. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and James having to shield, the room couldn’t progress past just being an idea until recently.

After getting quotes from a few companies and having discussions with the James’s brother and guardian, a final decision was made and James could finally look forward to his new room!

The installation took place and at the beginning of October and much to everyone’s delight was completed within a few days.  James has been making good use of his amazing room and spends lots of time exploring his new space!
