Vikki's connection for the future!
We were delighted to be awarded digital devices from Connecting Scotland, at the start of the year, for use by the people we support within our services.
Connecting Scotland was launched in response to the pandemic to provide digital devices, data, training and support to get online to those who need it most. These digital devices were allocated through the support of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), local authorities and Third Sector organisations, who deliver and provide the support to their communities.
Our Dundee Services were awarded 10 digital devices and we are delighted that Vikki from our Pitairlie Service has been able to make great use of the laptop she was given as part of this great initiative.
Vikki is currently transitioning from long term hospital care to supported accommodation. Vikki wants to use her laptop for her future prospects such as college courses. Vikki has expressed that she would like to learn British Sign Language. Vikki is a great writer and having the laptop will enable her to express her thoughts through creative writing.
The laptop will also enhance Vikki’s day to day living experiences. She will be able to learn new life skills through online shopping and will have great fun keeping in touch with family and friends.
Vikki is delighted and very appreciative of her new gift!
“I cannot fault any of the staff here at The Richmond Fellowship Scotland, they have al made me feel welcome, safe and supported. They go above and beyond to help and support me. I recently received a laptop, this is going to benefit me in my studies and help me learn new skills.” – Vikki
