Ruth's Story!
Ruth moved into her new home at Bruce Street in Bannockburn in October 2021. She has settled in really well. Ruth gets on well with all her house mates and the people who support her. Ruth’s favourite area of the house is the conservatory which has nice garden views, Ruth enjoys relaxing here watching TV with a cup of tea and a biscuit, she also likes coming here for some quiet time, where she enjoys crochet.
Ruth likes the local area, and will go out for a walk if she is feeling up to it, stopping for a cup of tea. Ruth gets her hair and nails done regularly in the local area. Ruth attends local church service on a Sunday at times too and goes to the crochet club, and library. Ruth likes shopping in the town centre.
Ruth has also been to The Bannockburn Heritage Centre, which she particularly enjoyed as Ruth is very patriotic and loves Scotland, Ruth enjoys sharing facts and history on Scotland with staff from other countries.
Ruth went on a holiday to Fort William last year with her staff and travelled on the steam train from Fort William to Mallaig. Ruth is contemplating buying herself a car to allow her to travel around the country and visit different historical sites and local attractions.
Ruth is friendly and bubbly and enjoys having a chat and a cuppa with the people who support her, Ruth particularly likes the pancakes Lily makes for her.
Ruth is an animal lover, and always makes sure the bird feeders/water in the garden are topped up and when out shopping picks food up for the wildlife. Ruth likes staff sharing pictures of their pets with her also and enjoys sharing stories about her childhood pets Trixie and Corey.
Ruth says she is happy in Bruce Street and is very appreciative of the relationships she has formed here.
