Health & Safety Audit Success!

The Health and Safety team have recently conducted a comprehensive health and safety audit from January through to May 2018. The services that have been audited are Care Homes, Houses of Multiple Occupancy and some 24 Hour Services.

A total of 61 audits were carried out and the results were very positive with many services scoring high, in particular with how H&S is being Managed and Fire Safety. The overall organisational score was 89% compliant. However, the audit has identified that we need to make some improvements with how medication is managed, in some services, and also training in H&S and Moving and Handling.

This is the third time this audit has been carried out and is a great achievement.  All operational staff are commended for their hard work in achieving such a great score.  Health and Safety is an important part of our work and seeing, for example risk assessments, safe procedures, support plans, lone working, medication, fire training, fire logs etc. in place, is proof of the positive health and safety culture the organisation has adopted over the years.
