Girvan Friendship Group
The Girvan Friendship Group has been growing over the past few months since successfully bidding for funds at the Participatory event in September 2014.
The Group meets every Tuesday in Girvan and is a social group bringing together people who have experienced the same health difficulties. The money has been used to purchase various items and equipment but some has some supported monthly day trips over the summer months which every one has enjoyed.
On 24 April the Group enjoyed a day trip to Culzean Castle. Luckily the weather was superb on the day which included an interesting tour around the Castle. The guides were very informative and knowledgeable and were able to provide loads of information about the people who had lived and stayed in the Castle.
The Group also enjoyed a nice lunch and a walk around the grounds.
If you are interested in joining the Group or want more information about its activities then please call the Ayr South Service on 01292 283498.
About Participatory funding
Participatory funding is an innovative initiative pioneered by The Richmond Fellowship Scotland as a way of handing over funding to the People We Support for them to shape, design and control projects that achieve what they want. Our only requirement is that the money is spent on having some fun!
