Stephen McCaffrey
In 2019, Stephen was appointed as a non-executive member of the Richmond Fellowship’s Management Committee. He served as a co-opted member of the Management Committee for eight months prior to the 2019 appointment. In 2020, Stephen acted as vice-chair before being elected as chairperson in September 2021.
Stephen is a health and social care defence barrister and co-founder of Kings View Chambers, a leading fitness to practise defence chambers rated excellent by clients. He has a proven track record of success and years of experience in regulatory defence. He specialises in healthcare law and regulation. As a leading regulatory law barrister, he has vast experience in defending all healthcare professionals in all courts and tribunals ranging from doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals including paramedics and social workers.
Stephen’s experience includes defending and representing healthcare professionals including issues with registration, allegations made against them for poor professional competence, health issues and allegations of misconduct.
